Barnstable-based Cape Cod Hospital Equipment Loan Program (Cape Cod HELP) will host a charity golf tournament at Hyannis Golf Club on Tuesday, May 31 to raise funds and awareness for its rapidly-expanding free medical equipment lending program for Cape-area residents.
Cape Cod HELP is a 501.(c).3. charitable organization that lends donated, new and gently-used durable medical equipment (e.g., wheelchairs, walkers, rollators, hospital beds, bathroom equipment) to anyone in need. No deposits or fees are charged for equipment loaned out.
“This tournament is an important building block in our ongoing growth, and also important to helping raise public awareness of what we’re doing for people who need medical equipment but may not be able to afford it on their own,” stated Cape Cod HELP board chairman Dave Hill. “Equipment donations enable a steady stream of equipment for people in need, and the funds raised by our events and other activity allow us to continue to improve and expand our facilities and ability to serve people.”
The May 31 golf tournament begins with a 7:30 AM registration and 8:30 AM shotgun start. Registration costs $125 per golfer, which includes a gift bag and cart use. Registration also includes a post-tournament lunch buffet at Cape Cod HELP’s central facility, located at Fraternal Lodge at 1989 Falmouth Road in Centerville, MA.
Additional opportunities to support Cape Cod HELP include closest-to-the-pin and longest-drive driving contests, as well as such raffle prizes as gift certificates for local restaurants, golf clubs, balls, clothing, and accessories. Cape Cod HELP is also working with local businesses and organizations to act as event sponsors. Anyone interested in registering, donating, or sponsoring may contact (774) 552-2199, or visit www.CapeCodHELP.org.
